With Gratitude

We have been blessed with abundance in a variety of forms while launching ÀBĪYÈ. This page serves as a dedication to the partnerships that have allowed us to launch with integrity, intent, and style.

Vanessa Gadberry is a Creative Director with a skillset that encompasses branding and design. She has skillfully and lovingly created and designed ÀBĪYÈ’s virtual home. Through mentorship from Black women, Vanessa has activated to provide pro bono work to Black leadership and entrepreneurs looking to create an online presence. We are thankful for Vanessa’s expertise.

Tré Seals, founder of Studio Seals and Vocal Type Co. uses his work in typography to increase diversity of thought and creation. His unique integration of culture in his work stood out to us, and we are proud to use Tré’s typeface in our logo.

Mama Glow, a premiere maternity lifestyle brand committed to supporting women along the childbearing continuum, took us and many to-be doulas under their wings during a global pandemic and trained us up. With owner Latham Thomas at the helm and Bri Mobley and Tanzye Hill there to guide and support, Ade and I received world-class doula training. We are forever grateful for the effortless way in which Mama Glow builds a foundation in social justice, the real cornerstone of this work we have been called to do. Thank you for making this part of our journey a reality.

Visual representation of Black people feeling joy, experiencing pregnancy, and simply existing is important to us. Showcasing these images on our site, was even more important. Thanks to Nappy.Co, we have had the ability to access photographs of Black caregivers, Black birthing people, and Black babies to launch our business. Nappy was created to provide beautiful, high-res photos of Black people to startups, brands, agencies, and everyone else.

Some of the beautiful, high quality photos you see throughout our site were provided for free via Unsplash and Pexels. Unsplash and Pexels are platforms where photographers can upload their images for everyone to use, so long as they receive credit.
